A visit of C class to the Museum of Ancient Byzantine and Post Byzantine Musical Instruments

On Thursday October 10th the students of C class went on an educational
visit to the Museum of Ancient Musical Instruments. It was ‘a travel to the past’.
Having the help of our guide and the precious knowledge of our teacher of Music Mr. Dagas Dimitres, we travelled 6,500 years into the past and saw the ‘birth’ of many musical instruments, such as the lyre, the harp, the pipe, the violin, the bouzouki, the drums etc.

We heard their sound and were really charmed by the ‘song’ of the harp and the pipe.
We saw Hermes playing the instrument and it was as if he was inviting us to a mad dance. We heard the sound of the lyre and we saw Byzantine noble figures playing it.

The sound of the musical instruments was still inside our ears when we left. We thanked our guide and everyone was offered an interesting handbook of the Museum as ‘loot’.
